Where to Exchange Cash and USDT in Istanbul: Local Office Review

Where to compare cash
Istanbul's useful exchange market is a set of compact clusters, not one permanent winner. For cash, start in Fatih: the Grand Bazaar, Nuruosmaniye and Beyazıt, then Eminönü.
Atlas Döviz is at Aynacılar Sokak 5-7/1 by Mahmutpaşa Gate. At the 31 August 2026 check, Google Maps showed 4.4 from 98 reviews. Positive reviews praised its rates, spread and quick service; several low-rated reviews repeatedly criticised staff attitude.
Angun Döviz is at Yeni Cami Caddesi 4/A in Eminönü. Its Maps card showed 4.6 from 269 reviews. Positive reviews repeatedly mentioned competitive rates; one recent review also described quick, efficient service. Low-rated reviews included staff-attitude complaints, disappointing quotes and one report of an older dollar note being refused.
Saray Döviz, at Galip Dede Caddesi 24/A near Galata, showed 4.8 from 291 reviews. Many positive reviews praised its rates and staff, but several recent low-rated reviewers said nearby counters quoted better. That contradiction is useful: a strong rating is not a live rate comparison.
Mete Döviz is at Halilpaşa Sokak 4/D in Karaköy and showed 4.6 from 26 reviews. Several reviewers praised its rates; one recent one-star review alleged a missing receipt and a lower-than-expected payout. The sample is much smaller, so use Mete as a comparison point, not a conclusion.
How to compare
Do not exchange at the first visible counter. Ask two or three nearby offices the same question: “If I sell $1,000, exactly how many TRY will I receive after everything?” Compare the final payout within minutes. When selling USD or EUR, the relevant board side is Döviz Alış—the office's buying rate. One Grand Bazaar visitor reported that the third counter beat the first two; that supports shopping around, not assuming the third is always best.
If you are staying in Kadıköy, one contributor reported competitive quotes along Söğütlüçeşme Caddesi from the ferry terminal. Compare locally before crossing the city solely for a small difference.
USDT for cash
Coinsfera's own FAQ says its Necatibey Caddesi 51/A office handles cash–crypto deals, requires ID and quotes fees per transaction. One Reddit commenter reported converting TRC20 USDT there into USD and TRY. This is one provider claim plus one anecdote, not an endorsement. Before transferring, ask for the final cash payout, fee and operating legal entity; SPK says appearing on its provisional list does not by itself mean authorisation.
